About Tuera

Tuera Holland (she/her) acquired her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy & Practice with the goal of providing psychotherapy to populations experiencing complex and ambient trauma as a result of marginalization. Her clinical experience includes assisting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, race-based trauma, LGBTQIA concerns, eating concerns and disorders, suicidal ideation, nonsuicidal self-injury, PTSD, self-image concerns, academic distress, work-related stress, family conflict, relationship concerns, and isolation. Tuera’s goal is to create a space in which clients feel safe as well as empowered as they explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. She uses a client-centered approach, maintaining space for each client to determine their own goals for treatment. Ultimately, she aims to restore clients with a sense of control and balance. In addition to her clinical work, Tuera instructs at the collegiate level, consults for several behavioral health program developers, and has facilitated workshops for nonprofit organizations across the United States.
